Our Wonderful World – Bald Eagles 2

As promised, here are the rest of the eagle photos from our quick trip this past weekend. This guy was in the tree some distance from the nest, probably keeping a close eye on the area. In fact, if you look at the last picture closely, it appears that he is gazing right me. No doubt thinking, “Why is this guy here and what is he pointing at me?” He flew off before we could get very close to him, and of course, he flew off mostly toward the sun. I wonder if that is a tactical advantage, he gives himself. He can see me, but I can’t really get a good look at him.

The other shots were taken in small openings while he was perched. It proved to be difficult to get a good clear shot of his head and entire body. I had to quickly change some of the focal point settings to try and focus on him and not all of the branches and things surrounding him. Thankfully, I was able to get a few good shots.

I find it so amazing that these Bald Eagles are practically right in my own backyard, just about a 30-minute drive from my house. I remember as a kid, the only place you could see an eagle was at the zoo, in National Geographic, or on Mutual of Omaho’s Wild Kingdom. Thankfully, the Bald Eagle is making a widespread comeback. Hopefully, man will not wipe them out again with chemicals and pollution…although the recent toxic explosion is East Palestine, OH is no doubt not helping any wildlife…or anything for that matter.

I hope you enjoy the photos and take a moment to click on that “Like” and “Follow” buttons below. Please leave me a comment and feel free to ask any questions.

Moments in time. That is what a photographer captures with his camera and lens. It’s not the colors, or the light, or even the subjects. It’s the emotion of a moment. The awe!

Enjoy Our Wonderful World!
